Great news for boaties, Hauraki Rail Trail cyclists and the District in general. Stage 1 of the Historical Maritime Park’s $1.1 million project has begun. The project includes a riverboat (already purchased and currently awaiting refurbishment), a new wharf in Paeroa and new pontoons at the park.
The new wharf at Wharf Street is well underway and we hope to have it completed by September/October. The pontoons will be installed at the Park shortly.
By summer, we are expecting Stage 1 to be completed and visitors will be able to cruise into Paeroa by riverboat.
